Set up the keyboard

  1. If you have a beta invitation, install Apple TestFlight, open the invitation and install KeKey.
  2. Open KeKey. The app includes a setup and gestures guide.
  3. Go to iPhone Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard and select KeKey.
  4. Open a normal text field, touch and hold the globe key, and select KeKey.

iOS may use the system keyboard in secure fields and some apps. If KeKey is missing, check that the app is installed and the keyboard is added in Settings, then open the globe menu again.

Full Access

Basic typing and built-in dictionaries work without it. To share personal words and settings locally between the app and keyboard, go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → KeKey → Allow Full Access.

Full Access is also required for separately enabled local statistics and the typing journal. The keyboard makes no network requests. iCloud synchronization is disabled in this version. See the privacy policy.

Personal words

Open the personal dictionary in KeKey to edit a saved word's spelling or language. Swipe left to delete a word; undo is available immediately afterwards. Built-in dictionary switches do not delete personal words.

Report a problem

Email support@kekey.tech with your KeKey version, iPhone model, iOS version, short steps, expected result and actual result. Beta testers can also send feedback through TestFlight.

Only attach screenshots or recordings without personal information. Do not send passwords or payment information. The typing journal may contain personal text; share it deliberately and only if needed. KeKey does not send journals automatically.
